HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I know I have not been the best blogger this past year. I am always late and a lot of times I do not even post anything. I say I will try to be better, but we will see. Mother's day last year was bittersweet. We lost a baby the week of mother's day. Not exactly the best week for that. I have lost other pregnancies but this one was especially hard for me. Being a mother doesn't happen when you deliver it happens the minute you know you are pregnant. That love is there immediately. Needless to say I was sad, but I still had 2 precious gifts from God, Kaitlyn and Jackson. They make my life complete. When you have your first child you think I could never love anyone more. And you have another child who you love just as much. The love you feel for your children is indescribable. What a difference a year has made. We welcomed Nathan to our family just 3 1/2 weeks ago. And now I have 3 precious gifts. I am not sure what I did to deserve the honor of being a mother of 3, but I am so grateful that God has entrusted them to me. Being a mother is not always an easy job, and there are days I need to lock myself in the room for a time out. But I can honestly say I would not change a thing. Adjusting to being a mother of 3 has definitely been different. As they say we are now outnumbered!! I would like to say I just jumped right in and every thing has gone smoothly, but I would be lying. I delivered Nathan at the hospital where I work and I broke down one night and became THAT patient. The one who can't keep their baby quiet and is sobbing in the bed. After a good night sleep I felt a little more myself. I also made myself and all my kids cry the other night when I was again sleep deprived and frustrated. As I questioned "What was I thinking?" So super mom NO, but at the end of the day (when all the kids are asleep :)) I feel so blessed. I know I have said it before, but I am a lucky woman. I have a husband who loves me unconditionally. Even when I am crying, dinner is not done, and the house is a mess!! I have 3 beautiful healthy children. Kaitlyn is such a huge help with the baby I couldn't do it without her. Jack is the sweetest kid you will ever meet. And Nathan is finding his place in the family. He loves his brother and sister, and just watches everything they do. Each one is different and so special. I cannot imagine life any other way!! I just hope that I can live up to the standards my mom has set. I couldn't write a blog on mother's day and not mention my mom. She is truly amazing and I would not be able to do what I do without her. She is always there for us. Whether I need to complain or need her to help with the kids she makes it happen. So thank you mom for everything. I love you more than you will ever know. To all of you moms, grandmas, step moms, and mothers-to-be Happy Mother's Day!! Enjoy every minute with your babies they grow up way too fast.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
KAITLYN!!

Kaitlyn turned 11 on Saturday December 5th. I cannot believe it has been 11 years already. Time goes by so fast. She is 5 feet tall and looks so old. I don't think I am ready for her to be so big!! Kaitlyn is beautiful inside and out. She is so helpful to me sometimes I forget she is still a kid. She is still doing her competitive cheer and LOVES it. All of you who knows Kait knows she is a lot like me. Sassy and stubborn, but she is also sweet and thoughtful too. She is always busy doing something and being social. I am so proud of you and I love you Kaitlyn!! And I am grateful everyday that God blessed me with such a beautiful little girl. I can't wait to see what exciting things this year has in store for us. Happy Birthday my sweet baby girl!!

Jackson is 6

Jack turned 6 on September 4th. I know I am WAY behind on my blogging. He had a party at home and we rented this monstrous obstacle course and water slide for the day. It took pretty much the entire backyard, but the kids loved it. I think at the final count we had 17 kids playing at once and unbelievably no one was seriously injured. Though I am not sure how. It was like a circus. We have a big range in age so I wanted something that would entertain them all, and I think this was a winner. I couldn't get the kids off. He had a great birthday party with his family and friends.
A little about Jack he is still the sweetest little boy I know. He is a momma's boy which is perfectly fine with me. He loves to play video games, and sword fight with his daddy. He loves to ride his bike and play with friends. Jack is easy going and laid back. He loves to tell stories and make people laugh. I cannot wait to see what all this year has in store for us, and what crazy things Jack will do. Happy Birthday Jack!! I love you.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Today life as I knew it changed. Both my kids are in school all day. Kaitlyn started Intermediate school. She is a 5th grader. Now she gets to change classes, and sit where she wants at lunch. Her favorite part is the locker. I guess that was cool when you first got one. She feels like a big girl now. She met some knew friends and saw some old ones. All in all she had a great day. Jack started kindergarten. Where does the time go? I cannot believe he is in elementary school. It seems like just yesterday I was taking Kaitlyn to kindergarten. He did great. He was tired when he got home, and I guess school makes you hungry because he has not stopped eating since 3:00 this afternoon. He said he had a good day, and he likes his teacher. He also made some new friends, but when I asked their names he said "I forgot." I guess we will learn them in time. Both of the kids made it to class with no tears or break downs. I wish I could say the same for me. I at least made it to the car before I broke down. So no one else could see me. I told myself I would not cry today, but we got in the car to leave and butterfly kisses was on. I quickly changed that to a song about dancing with daddy. I settled on sports radio for the short drive. Why is it that when you are already sad there's always one of those songs on the radio? I am just glad the first day is over and without tears from the kids!! Now we get to go to bed and start all over :)! Hopefully we will get into the routine soon.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

It seems like I just posted this from last year. Time goes by so fast. So it has been another year, and it has had some good days and some bad. I have to say that each year that goes by makes me feel more blessed. I have a wonderful husband who loves me unconditionally. Even on those bad days when I am not that lovable. Kris likes to say that I tricked him. Back in high school I used to scratch his back and was so sweet. I like to say I grew up, had 2 kids, and figured out I didn't have to do these things for him to love me. I think I am still sweet, but some days he may disagree. It is hard to believe that we have been together for 12 years (married 9). My how we have changed. We may not have done everything the traditional way, but I wouldn't change a thing!! I love my little family. This past year my parents celebrated their 30th anniversary. It is so nice to see that staying married is possible. It seems like the odds are stacked against you these days. I am grateful for their example, and hope to be there one day too. It may not always be easy, but it is so worth it. At the end of the day Kris comes home from work to me and the kids. We eat dinner and watch a show or play outside. Some might say how boring. I say I am lucky!! So thank you Kris for always being there. For always making me feel special and beautiful. I love you more and more everyday. And I appreciate all you do for our family. I can't wait to see what the next year has in store for us.

Jack Plays T-Ball

Jack had his first T-Ball game last week. He plays with some of his friends from school. It is going to take some getting used to. Everyone bats and everyone scores. There are no outs. I think this is kind of confusing, but they all seem to have fun. We are a competitive family though so this is not our mentality. Oh well it's YMCA and they have no idea what they are doing anyway. Jack played 3rd base and he does not understand that he is supposed to stand on the base after the hit so that the others can throw it to him. When I was trying to tell him he would look at me like I was stupid and explain that he did not have the ball. "I only go to the base when I have the ball." After the third time of trying I gave up. He will learn I guess, and I learned my lesson about stressing the kids out after Kait's first attempt at soccer. Yes, I was the crazy mom who ran up and down the sidelines yelling "Just kick the ball!!!" She did not kick the ball, I looked crazy, and she did not want to continue her soccer career. Lesson learned!! And a lot of others got a good laugh at my expense. I told you I am a little competitive. Jack did great he had 2 good hits and stopped a couple of grounders. Way to go Jack!! He also enjoyed playing with friends.

This is Jack waiting for his turn to bat. I think the water jug in the dugout was a bigger hit than the game itself.

Here is Jack sliding home. This was necessary why? Not sure. Maybe it was all the pressure of the catcher they don't have, maybe he thought he would be out (there are no outs), or maybe he's a boy and thought this stain will be really hard for mom to get out YEA!! So far baseball has been a hit. I just hope I can keep myself in check so he won't give up to soon, and I won't be known as that crazy mom again. His little team is the Red Raiders (Linda you should appreciate that).

Family Vacation
Jamaica 2009

We just got back from Ocho Rios, Jamaica for our annual family vacation. It was a blast. The beach in Jamaica is beautiful and crystal clear. Jack actually swam in the ocean this year. Kait has always loved the ocean, but Jack has always liked the pool better. This year we only swam in the pool twice during the whole vacation. Jack even snorkeled a little. The pictures above are from a place called Dunns River Falls. It is absolutely beautiful. I have never seen anything like it. We hiked up 600 feet of water falls. It was cold water and we had to walk hand in hand up the falls which was difficult with the kids, but there were stops along the way. Slides out of the rocks. It was a lot of fun. Jack liked it for a while, but the cold water got to him at the end. We also snorkeled near the hotel.  This was a first for me. I am a little chicken of the ocean. Okay I am a big chicken. I am afraid of sharks. Silly I know, but I just think that if I do finally give in and swim that Jaws will find me. I did it though and Jaws did not get me. It was actually really cool. There was a reef straight out from the hotel and as far down the beach as you could see. This kept the waves down to almost nothing, and Kris told Jack it also kept the sharks out. So he went with us to snorkel. The water was about 6 feet deep and as clear as glass. We saw sea snakes, sea urchins, sting rays, blow fish, and other little things. I only looked around for jaws a few times through the excursion. We ate a ton as usual, watched some really cool shows, danced at the beach party, and just enjoyed being together. This year it was the usual 11 of us. My parents, Amy & Jason, Kris, the kids, and I, Uncle Mike and his 2 kids. Then we also added Mike's fiance (happened during the trip ahhh...) and her 2 kids. There were 14 of us in all. The 6 kids got along great, and that allowed us to watch them play while laying out on the beach. You can't beat that. We played a lot of volleyball, and of course beat a lot of people. It was great until I jammed the hell out of my toe. It was black and blue the rest of the trip. That didn't stop the volleyball though. It did stop me from being a good defensive player. It is nice to be home, but I have been looking for the buffet all day and cannot find it. I guess I become the maid, cook (don't listen to Kris), entertainer, and chauffeur all in one again. Can't wait until next year!!!

4th Grade Graduation

Kaitlyn graduated from 4th grade on Wednesday. Yes they now have graduation for kindergarten, 4th grade, and high school. She is now officially a 5th grader in intermediate school. That just makes me feel old. They had a sweet ceremony with a slide show that I made. I put together pictures of all of the 4th graders (154) in cap and gown and then got some kinder pics also. It turned out really cute, but if I ever say that I will make a video like that again please slap me!! I am a glutton and always offer to do more than I should. Though I am glad that I get the chance to be a part of Kaitlyn's activities. Above are some pictures of Kait with her friends, and the little boy that was her 1st "boyfriend." I made her get him so I could have a picture of her 1st "love." Even though it was a short lived relationship. Lasted all of 2 or 3 days. Now if I can just figure out how to keep her relationships like that. I have to say he is a cute boy and very well mannered. It is hard to believe she is getting so old. I am scared of the teenage years to come, but I have enjoyed watching her change over the last 10 years. I am sure it will be just as fun to see the changes over the next 10. Hopefully not as fast though. Things change so fast it seems like just yesterday she was Jack's age starting school. I truly am grateful for my children they are such a special gift, and I thank God for trusting them to me.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of you! There are days when I feel overwhelmed at being a mom. Days when I would like to retire the name "mom." But being a mom is a gift I am grateful for. I have been blessed with 2 beautiful children. Both very active, and both very different. Kaitlyn is extremely self sufficient. She can do anything she wants, and will if I do not do it fast enough. Like the letter she sent to Kim Dawson modeling agency posing as me, and in the process making me look like an illiterate red neck. She can wear me out mentally. Kaitlyn loves to talk. I am not sure where that comes from :). But there are days I tell her that she has reached her word limit for the day. Though I am sure with the teenage years fast approaching  we will have our battles. She is a precious gift from God. She is such a beautiful girl inside and out. She is funny, beautiful, smart, and athletic like her daddy. Jack is the sweetest boy. He still loves to cuddle up with his momma and if Kris pretends to use karate on me, jack is the first one to my defense. He is all boy though if it doesn't jump out and bite him he will not find it. I also think he would be content to let me wipe him until college. The self sufficient part did not pass down to sweet little Jack. He thinks he is a monkey and my couches are basically a jungle gym for his pleasure. He is another precious gift from God. He is handsome, funny, sweet, and athletic. Somedays I do not think I deserved these gifts, but I am truly thankful that He gave them to me.

I would also like to give special thanks to my mom who taught me how to be a mom, and still on those bad days will listen to me complain about all the things I am frustrated with. She is my mom and my best friend. Not a day goes by that I do not call my mom.  She has been a great example and continues to teach me things everyday. I just hope that when Kait grows up she will need me and want me around as much as I do my mom. So...Mom Thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do. I Love You.

JACK'S SCHOOL PROGRAM

Jack had his last program at Building Blocks last Monday. This is a picture of him and his "girlfriend" Sydney. I have to say they are too cute. Who knows maybe one day, and the good thing is I like her parents!! Anyway he sang his best and then we went to class to see all of his artwork. The teachers had made picture books for each child in the class, and the last page is a sheet of questions that said "according to Jack." It was so funny to see his Answers. According to Jack...You have to be 11 to drive, I am 12 years old (just made the driving cutoff :)), Kris is 16, and to save our planet he is going to "go to the moon and stop the bombs." I love the little things like this they are always nice to look back on, and they always make you smile. My baby is growing up so fast. Kaitlyn is now to tall for me to fix her hair standing she has to sit down, and Jack likes to tell everyone "I am almost as tall as my mom's boobs :)" I really like that when he says it to complete strangers. Ahh the joys of motherhood. Below is Jack singing with his class.

SKY RANCH , 4th Grade

Kaitlyn and I went to Van, Tx a 4th grade field trip called Sky Ranch last week. I was a little worried about being trapped with 120 4th graders and in a cabin with the 11 girls in Kait's class. I have to say I had fun though. I was put with 3 other moms who are all crazy like me and we had as much fun as the kids did. I have been trying to tell Kaitlyn how cool I really am for years, but she never would listen. We made up an American Idol skit to perform at the campfire, and it was the best skit by far if I do say so myself. Kris and Jack came down for the day on Wednesday and Kris proved to be very helpful with his American Idol knowledge. Kaitlyn was Paula Abdul (she actually does this very well). I guess it is not that hard to babble incoherently and dance. The campfire was fun. The counselors were very entertaining. Even Jack joined in on the Boom Chicka Boom song we sang. We played clue where I had to dress up as the rich old lady and give clues to the groups of kids. That was great. The kids would call me rich old lady the rest of the trip. I also did a little cupid shuffle which our group was the best at. I think they may want us to come back just so we can show the other boring people how to be fun!! Kaitlyn rode horses and learned about the history of Texas. I am glad I was able to go with her and hang out with her friends. She is growing up so fast, and I think mom doing the cupid shuffle will only be cool for a limited time. Even if I am really good :)!! So I will take what I can get.

BIG "D" 1/2 Marathon
So I decided to run a 1/2 marathon as one of my new year resolutions. My dad and brother-in-law did one in November, and I thought I could do it too. I never thought that Kris would run with me. He is not much for running long distance so when he said he would train with me I was surprised. I figured he would stop after a few weeks, but he was the one who kept me going. I couldn't let him beat me. He made me watch a documentary called "Running the Sahara" which I thought was crazy. Three men ran the Sahara in 110 days. Not realistic to me, but Kris loved it. He was running when we had the ice storm in 29 degree weather. I opted for the treadmill that day. We trained for 12 weeks, and got a little off in the end so we were a little worried that we would not make it. On Sunday April 5th Kris, my dad, and I went to run. Kris and dad did great. I was a little (okay a lot) slower than they were but we all finished, and now I can say I have run a 1/2 marathon. Kris was asking if maybe I wanted to try a marathon, but I think my poor knees could never make it. Oh well I am still glad I did it, and maybe we will even do it again :)!!

Colorado

COPPER MOUNTAIN, COLORADO

Okay I have been very lazy with the blog!! We have been doing a lot, but I have posted nothing so bear with me!! The first of March we went to Copper Mountain Colorado. Kris won a trip for work so we decided to take the kids. I am the only one who had been skiing before, and anyone who knows that story knows it doesn't count!! I went in highschool with some friends for a church group. This was even the same place we went. It was a scary experience for me. I ski down the mountain one time and took off my skis about half way down. Then some lady who "helps the blind ski" offers to help me down. So obviously I wasn't any good!!! My best friend almost blinded me with his ski pole, and broke his arm. This was my only experience, and here I was taking my babies up the ski lift with a husband who is afraid of heights (though he will deny it). I have to say this trip went much smoother. We got private lessons which is way more than the 30 minutes on the bunny slope my highschool friends allowed me before taking us up a blue. The private lessons made all the difference. We spent 4 hours learning how to ski and stop properly. Stopping was something I did not learn the first time, and I feel it is kind of important! Both of the kids were better than Kris and I. Jack was a crazy skier. He didn't have to use poles and would go so fast I was yelling at him to stop. He would whip a 360 and look at me like I was cramping his style. Kaitlyn was the cautious one. She always kept control of her speed, and was much more graceful than the rest of us. I still am not completely comfortable, but there were no blind instructors offering to help me this time. Colorado was beautiful!! The snow and the mountains were great. Jack loved the huge piles of snow he could not keep himself from jumping in every chance he got. I think we might just do it again :). Especially if Kris wins another trip. Who knows maybe one day I will ski something more than a green, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

Oklahoma Camping trip, and Holly turns 30

The day after Christmas I turned 30. I really do not feel any different, but it is sad to say I am 30, it just makes me feel old. Oh well I am still young at heart. We got up and got packed to head to Oklahoma for our 2nd annual camping trip in Broken Bow. There were 19 of us going, and we had a blast. When we got there my mom & dad and Amy & Jason had gotten there early to put up balloons and decorations. There was also a cake that Amy had beautifully written on (it looked like a professional had done it :). It was nice to be with family and then they had put together a DVD of pictures of me which Amy thought was retarded, but I LOVED it.

We spent the next few days singing with the karaoke and guitars, playing games, and sitting around the campfires. We went hiking on a trail that took us higher than we thought, and it was kind of scary with all the kids there and a big fall with a creek at the bottom. But the kids liked it and it was a good work out. We also played a game of tag football. In which my uncles girlfriend, Gina, got to see the competitive side of the Reyero family. We played "brownies vs. whiteys." And of course team brownie prevailed!! I ended up with a huge bruise on my arm which is still there a week later, and I think I bruised Gina's ribs and clawed her neck (by accident of course). We do not like to lose and will take you down if we have to!! The next day we decided to play wiffle ball. Although I only hit once and destroyed myself in the rocks we were running on. Note to self you do not have to run full speed when playing backyard baseball. It's that competitive thing again I let it get the best of me. I also ended up looking like Kris abuses me. We ate a lot and laughed a lot, I can not wait to go again next year for the 3rd annual trip!!

Merry Christmas '08

Christmas was crazy as usual around our house!! We started out Christmas Eve morning with Jack wanting to know why Santa had not come yet? I told him he would come after Jack went to sleep. Jack takes everything literal so he decided to go back to sleep right then. I had to tell him I meant after sleep that night. He had waited so patiently and now he was just ready to open!!We started With a Christmas Eve candlelight service at our church. Jack was bored in big people church until the candlelight part. This he thought was great, and he stood so still holding his candle concentrating so hard he could not even sing. After church we headed to Granny's house where we celebrate with Kris' family. Kait showed off her cheer, and Jack did some karate moves. But all he really wanted was to open the gifts!! So after dinner he got to start the opening. After Granny's we headed to my grandmothers house where the kids were waiting anxiously for our arrival because they know that means it's time to open the presents. So Jack got his wish and got to open even more presents!!! Kait and Jack are basically spoiled rotten!! They got great gifts and we had fun with families.

Christmas morning Jack came running into our room squealing because Santa had finally come!! He then proceeded to wake Nini & Pop (who spend the night every Christmas Eve at the kids request) I think he scared them both to death as he tore into the room yelling Wake Up Santa came!!! They then opened way too many gifts, this is something I say that I will not do every year but then I forget what all I have and keep buying. This year Jack would not even slow down to look at things he just tore through the paper said wow and went on to the next. The clothes boxes he would not even finish unwrapping. Kait took her time opening everything and was very excited about the clothes. She is all girl! This year Kait finally asked me about Santa. I know she knew last year, but she let it slide. This year she asked me point blank. So I told her. She did not seem sad she smiled and said "the Easter Bunny too?" I must say it is much easier now that she knows I don't have to hide so much, but it makes me sad that she is growing up. We made a big breakfast and watched the kids ride their new razor scooter and ripstick.

You would think that was it, but no we still had two more houses to go to. We went to Gemaw and Papa's (Kris' parents for those who do not know) had lunch BBQ Kris' favorite and yes the kids got more exciting toys. After that we headed to Nini & Pop's to finish up the presents for the day. Jack was gung ho at first, but soon crashed after all the gifts were open. He had a long day. Christmas was great as usual. It sometimes can be hard to fit in all the families since we all live here, but I sure am grateful that we have you all. I know there are so many people who do not have family or are not able to go see family and I love that we can see ours any day. Family is such an important part of who we are, and I love that my kids get to be a part of all the little things that go with having a big family who enjoys being together!!

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn

Okay so I am way behind on my blogging I know. Kaitlyn turned 10 on December 5th. Can you believe it double digits!! We had the normal sleepover and took 4 girls to Six Flags. It was a blast!!! She has grown so much over the last year. Turning into a smart, beautiful, fun-loving pre-teen. That is a scary word for me. She works the computer better than I do and changes settings on my phone every chance she gets. I guess she thinks it's funny that I can't change them back :). One of her friends moms called me the other day to tell me that Kait and Claire had changed her phone so that every time it rings she would see a picture of Kaitlyn. I know that is just what she wanted a picture of my child!! She continues to get taller and should surpass me in a few years. That's okay she still knows whose boss!! She still does her cheer leading and spends her time at home working on being sassy, thus her nickname "Sassy cat." I am not quite sure where the sassy comes from though. Most think it came from me, but I disagree!! She is already thinking about her party next year, and how she can spend all my money. She may only be 10, but she thinks she is 20. I am grateful for my beautiful baby girl, and cannot wait to see what amazing things she will do over the next year!!

Competitions, bikes, and Thanksgiving oh my....

Kait and some friends at competition

Kait, Tori, and Lauren

Kait and Tori

We have not slowed down since Halloween and I see no end in sight until after Christmas. Kaitlyn had her first competition on the 9th of November. She did GREAT as usual!! She still amazes me when I watch her perform. She is growing up so fast. I was looking back at some pictures of a year or two ago and she looks so different. I am afraid the teenage years are approaching too fast, and I wish I could stop them. Jack also learned to ride his big boy bike without training wheels!! I have been working with him for a little while, and I think he would have gotten it a lot sooner if Kris would have been helping. Don't tell him I said that though. I was being too cautious. I thought if he fell once he wouldn't want to try again, but I took Kris' advice ( Yes you read that right). I let him just go for it, and within a few minutes he had it. I wish I would have done it sooner, my back would have appreciated it!! Now the only problem is he is a MANIAC! I guess this is the boy in him. He goes way too fast and turns corners like a race car driver. Kind of like his dad. His new thing is to go across the street like sissy. I told him that he could only cross the street if mommy was standing in it. He told me "mom I have trained for this you don't need to be here." He is soo funny. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We did!! We got to spend it with our families, and eat a whole lot of food that I didn't have to cook!! It does not get much better than that. This has been a crazy year in the world around us, but I have to say that I have been soo blessed. I know that I take it for granted so often, but I have a healthy beautiful family!! I have an AMAZING extended family that have taught me what being a family really means. As I get older I am more grateful for all of the little things. I lost a very dear friend this year, and he said in a letter that when we are faced with our life ending shorter than we expected the monetary things do not matter. It is the everyday little things our family and friends, what kind of person we are. I cannot say that I always live by this, but I am going to make an honest effort this year. He was right, and he is missed!! So to everyone who is a part of my life I love you and I appreciate all that you do for me no matter what it might be!!

Halloween (I know I am way late!!)

Ready to go Trick-or-treating

Okay I know it is way past Halloween, but my camera broke and I had to use mom's. Kaitlyn was playing with my camera and came in "I didn't drop it" was all I heard. Of course you know what that means, she dropped it!! So I had to wait to get all of the pictures. We have been crazy busy. For Halloween Jack was a variety of characters. First we went to a thing at a local park Jack was a ninja there. Then at school he was a soccer player. Dorothy is the little girl he loves!! I think he did well she is precious and I like her parents, old friends from school. He calls her "Cindy" and he tells me that he would hold her hand. Which at his age means "he likes her." On Halloween night he was ironman. Kait was a punk rocker and her friends came to trick-or-treat. Jack's little friend Maddie came too. Jack has all kinds of women in his life. They had fun and got LOTS of candy.

Kung Fu Jack

Okay I know it has been awhile since I posted and I have lots to post about, but I don't have all the pictures yet. Jack started karate about a month ago. He was so excited so I did not let the $100 a month (ridiculous I know) price stop me. He got his uniform and we went to the first class I do not think I have laughed so hard in a long time. The class is full of older kids and they begin with jumping jacks. This is new to Jack, and I thought everyone just knew how to do them. Boy was I wrong. He jumped his heart out and wildly flailed his arms around. I wish I had recorded it. Then came push-ups which to my surprise he is really good at. I think he is better than me(not that I am any good at them). So we went through the class and he loved every minute of it. We went again on Saturday still loved it. When class time came the next week we had a break down and he decided he is "through with ku-rate" Since the contract we signed makes us give a 90 day notice he will have to love it a little longer. I have a feeling that I just bought a $300 karate uniform. Note to self next time sign him up for cheaper sports or just buy the uniform!!! He has been a few more times so far. Kris takes him, and some days he likes it. Who knows maybe he will change his mind and be the next Daniel son. Next time you see him ask him to show you his kiaws(sp?)

The Air Show

Today we went to the Alliance Air Show. A friend of mine flies a B-52 (the first woman to fly one in the reserves) which I think is pretty cool. I have never been up close to a plane this size. It was HUGE!!!! Heather was nice enough to take us up in the cockpit. Kaitlyn thought that was cool because everyone else wanted to go in and they couldn't. Jack wanted to know if we were going to fly it? Kait has decided that she wants to be a pilot too. Not just a pilot, but the commander like Heather so that people have to say "yes ma'am" to her. I say go for it Kait. Although I would not like her to actually fly active duty. Jack was kind of quiet there. He had some questions for Heather. The car ride home he was full of questions.
This is Jack in the co-pilot seat he was a little scared to touch anything because he thought it might start flying. Now every plane we see he asks "is that girl flying that one?"
Kaitlyn took the pilot seat of course. She was not scared of touching anything, and she wanted to know what button released the bombs? Note to self remember to stay on Kait's good side!
And of course Kris had to fly also!! I think he was just as excited as the kids about the plane. Secretly I think he hoped that he could fly the plane. And this is Heather who made the kids day!(And Kris' too) I guess it pays to have friends who fly their own B-52 at the Air Show. Thanks Heather!!!
